Is Your Family Fighting Addiction?
Michelle Steele Ministries
Winning the Lost! Building their Faith! Releasing Their Destiny!
When one person is in the bondage of addiction, the whole family faces the battle. Everyone who loves the addict feels the pain and chaos of this lifestyle. But, I have news for you. You don't have to be a victim to the addiction and you don't have to stand by helpless to the situation.
There is help for your family. There is a plan of attack that you can take. The resources created here are designed to prepare you for battle and fuel your fight. You can do something. You can make a difference. You can fight for the life of your child, your sister or brother, or any person who needs to be free from a lifestyle of destruction.
Keep Reaching
You might be struggling to reach a person who is fighting addiction. I believe that I can help you win this fight. You see, I was addicted for nearly ten years to some very serious drugs. I know how desperate it makes a person feel to be a slave to cocaine. I, also, know how vitally important it is to have someone helping you to find freedom.
I heard a story of a man who had been taken captive. This man had no power to free himself from his captors. But, he had an uncle. This uncle gathered all of the hired hands in his employment and went to rescue his nephew. The miraculous thing was that five kingdoms had already tried to resist this army. Five kings and all of their armies had tried and lost. Maybe your family has tried the best rehab centers that mony could provide and that addiction still has your loved one in its grip.
This uncle that I am speaking of was Abram and this story is a true account of how a person can stand against all odds for the freedom of someone they love.
Abram rescued his nephew and I want to encourage you that you can be an instrument of release in the life of that person whom you love. Abram beat the odds because he tapped into the power of his covenant with God. I want to teach how to make this same covenant connection.
Stand in Faith-Not Frustration
Faith is the victory that overcomes the world-EVERY TIME!  You can exercise your faith for someone who is bound by addiction. The key to your victory is to focus on the evidence of God's Word and not the circumstancial evidence of the situation.
In other words, you may have to fight what you see with what God said. When that person looks worse or the addictive behavior continues, we open our mouths and agree with God. "I will not be moved by what I see. I believe that ___________ is free from the power of addiction and yielded to the perfect will of God.
Faith is not ignoring the fact. Faith is attacking the fact with the truth. John 17:17 tells us that God's Word is truth. The truth of God's Word will override and alter the fact.
Stand on the ground of your covenant with God. It was the covenant with God that equipped Abram with the advantage. Your struggle against that drug is a supernatural struggle. But, you stand on a firm foundation if your Lord is Jesus Christ.
Remember, God wants this person saved and set free more than you want this person free. You have God's will on your side.
You have the right to pray and ask in Jesus' name. James 5:16 tells us that the fervent, heartfelt prayer of a man or woman makes tremendous power available. Call out in faith-not frustration. Be confident that God hears you and he is working.
Imagine what could happen if you could schedule an intervention with God. What would happen if God could meet face to face with that family member who is struggling with meth, crack or oxycontin? What would it be like if God sat down to offer a guaranteed freedom from that addiction? He can. He will.
